These huge increases make yarding trains at 10mph difficult. How does the throttle plate work on a car? The throttle plate shaft is connected to a small motor and spring that responds to inputs from the computer. At idle, the computer commands the throttle plate to crack open slightly, much like the old carburetors. Typically, when everything works fine, when you release your throttle, a spring in the throttle body will snap it closed. If that spring breaks and you are already half-throttle, there's no way to close the throttle, and if you are on 2 wheels, you can get hurt fast. With twist grip, there are actually 2 cables that go to the throttle body: one
